The next installment in the series of silver coins is dedicated to Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc was a French national heroine and a saint of the Catholic Church. She was born around 1412 in France, during the Hundred Years’ War between France and England. She claimed to hear the voices of saints who commanded her to help the King of France regain his throne. Thanks to her courage, the French army achieved important victories, including at the Battle of Orléans. In 1431, Joan was captured by the Burgundians and burned at the stake as a heretic. In 1920, the Catholic Church canonized her.

The reverse of the silver coin depicts the majestic figure of Joan of Arc in full armor. The heroine wields a mighty two-handed sword, and her posture expresses courage, determination, and an unyielding strength of spirit.
