A gold banknotecovered with a thin laminate as an alternative to paper dollars.

Idaho 2 Goldback commemorates the virtue of Civitas, or community, through the Basque community in Boise. At the center of the composition, a Basque woman performs a traditional hoop dance called "Uztai Txiki (Arco Dantza)." Beneath her feet is the Basque cross of Boise, a locally recognizable lauburu design. The Boise mountains and sheep refer to the daily work of Basque immigrants who grazed sheep on the vast lands of Idaho. The Idaho State Capitol and the Basque Museum and Cultural Center are also visible in the background. Boise is now home to one of the largest Basque communities in the United States. The design was developed with input from representatives of the Idaho Basque Museum and reflects a Basque principle that fits Idaho perfectly: "Denon artean egina, erraz egina." What is done together is done easily.
