Tyrannosaurus, also known as Tyrannosaurus Rex, was one of the most powerful and well-known predatory dinosaurs. An adult individual could measure about 12 meters in height with a weight in the range of 5 to 7 tons. It is estimated that the predator lived about 68-66 million years ago, at the turn of the Late Cretaceous. Tyrannosaurus had a huge head with large teeth adapted for crushing bones. It was characterized by relatively short arms compared to its body size. It is one of the most recognizable and fascinating dinosaurs, often appearing in movies, books and computer games.
