"Eagle: Roots of the Nation" Collector's Medal: Eagle of Freedom, 29 grams

A collector's medal inspired by Polish patriotic symbols. 

The Eagle of Freedom is a striking numismatic piece that uniquely combines timeless Polish symbolism with the modern language of decorative art. Part of the “Roots of the Nation” series, this edition depicts one of the most important symbols of Polish statehood—the crowned eagle—in a futuristic, energetic design. The nobility of the metal is paired here with a precise, multicolored UV print, giving the coin’s classic form a decidedly contemporary and strikingly expressive character.

The central motif of the obverse is a majestic white eagle with its wings spread wide. Its head is crowned with a distinctive golden crown that stands out sharply against the intense red background. The dynamic composition is enriched by radiating patterns and geometric forms with sharp, defined edges. The skillful combination of lines, contrasts, and colors creates a sense of spatial depth, giving the design an impression of depth and an almost three-dimensional quality. As a result, the traditional symbol of Polish statehood is presented in a completely new light—modern, dynamic, and full of expression. The composition is framed by the inscription “ORZEŁ WOLNOŚCI” (Eagle of Freedom) at the bottom, which directly references the main motif of the design. The color scheme plays a particularly important role here. The white of the eagle, the gold of the crown, and the intense red create a powerful, patriotic combination that immediately catches the eye. The use of UV printing further highlights the finest details of the design and brings out its graphic dynamism. However, the futuristic design does not detach itself from the historical significance of the symbol depicted—on the contrary, it gives it new meaning and demonstrates that motifs associated with Polish national identity can also be interpreted using contemporary artistic means.

The reverse retains the elegant style characteristic of the “Roots of the Nation” collection. The dark, subdued background contrasts with the light-colored and precisely rendered details. In the center is the “KN” monogram, the hallmark of the series. It is surrounded by a decorative wreath of oak twigs and leaves—a symbol of strength, durability, resilience, and steadfastness. This motif perfectly harmonizes with the collection’s concept, which aims to highlight the most important elements of Polish heritage and national identity. The inscription “KORZENIE NARODU” runs along the edge, emphasizing that the coin belongs to this unique series.
