Sir Percival was one of the most famous knights in the legends of King Arthur. He belonged to the elite group of Knights of the Round Table and was renowned for his purity of heart and naive but sincere courage. In many versions of the story, it is he, along with other knights, who undertakes the search for the Holy Grail. Percival is often portrayed as a young man raised far from the court, who is just learning the principles of chivalry and honor. His path leads him to the legendary castle of Camelot, where he matures as a knight and hero. The character of Percival symbolizes innocence, spiritual quest, and inner transformation.

The reverse of the coin depicts one of the main legends associated with Sir Percival, showing him facing a shocking scene during his quest for the Holy Grail. When he reaches a forest clearing, he sees a lion and a snake fighting fiercely to the death. Without hesitation, guided by a sense of honor and justice, he decides to help the lion and kills the snake with his spear. The lion, freed from its mortal enemy, retreats into the forest without showing any aggression towards the knight. That night, Percival has a strange and meaningful dream. In his vision, a young woman with a noble and pure appearance approaches the lion and gently strokes it, symbolizing virtue and the Christian spirit. Then he sees an old woman with a dark and menacing face, bent over the snake's body, bitterly mourning its death. Upon awakening, Perceval realizes that he has made a decision of symbolic significance, siding with good and justice against evil and corruption, which further strengthens his path to the Grail. The obverse of the coin features twelve coats of arms and the names of the twelve houses of Camelot, Arthur Pendragon, King of Britain, and the eleven most representative and famous knights of Arthurian legend.
