Sierra Leone, Big Five: Elephant 2023, 1 oz Silver Coin

The elephant is the second item in the series, which is limited to just 5,000 copies.

The presented collection of silver investment coins is an interesting alternative to the popular Big Five series, issued by the South African mint, which is devoted to the same theme. The coins produced by Pobjoy Mint have, on the one hand, a more bullion-like character, devoid of attractive packaging. On the other hand, however, they are characterized by a very low mintage of only 5,000 copies and an interesting design, stylized on traditional African masks.

The presented bullion coin is the official legal tender of the Republic of Sierra Leone - its obverse bears the country's coat of arms and the year of issue. The reverse shows an image of an elephant's head, above which the inscription "Elephant" is placed. The proof and weight of the coin, as well as its face value, were included in the lower part of the design.

The series will consist of five issues, which will be dedicated to all the animals of the so-called African Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros.
