The 2 franc silver coin issued in France between 1898 and 1920 is one of the classic issues of the Third Republic period. The design depicting a woman sowing grain was created by French medallicist Louis Oscar Roty in 1897. Although this artist's works can be found in most prestigious museums in Europe, it is the Sower, known as "La Semeuse," that is considered his most recognizable work.

The reverse of the presented circulation coin is decorated with an image of a woman sowing grain. The figure is distinguished by a Phrygian cap blowing in the wind. In the background behind the heroine one will notice the sunrise over the horizon. The reverse bears the name of the engraver "O.Rota". The rim bears the inscription REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. The obverse is decorated with intertwined branches - oak, olive and wheat. The upper part of the obverse bears the denomination, while below it the year of issue of the coin.

The presented coin is a circulation coin and may have minor scratches, abrasions and dings. The coin has an issue date between 1960 and 1969.
