The Morgan dollar is one of the most recognizable silver circulation coins in the history of the United States. It was first minted between 1878 and 1904, and then again in 1921. It owes its name to its designer, British engraver George T. Morgan. Issuance of the coin ended in 1904 as a result of reduced demand for silver caused by the Sherman Act. Production resumed in 1921 thanks to the Pittman Act, which required silver coins to be melted down for British use and later replaced with new ones, including the Peace Dollar.

The obverse of the coin depicts the personification of Liberty (Liberty) wearing a Phrygian cap, decorated with a cotton leaf and a wreath of wheat, with the motto "E Pluribus Unum" above her head. The reverse of the Morgan Dollar depicts a majestic eagle with outspread wings, holding an olive branch and arrows in its talons, symbolizing peace and readiness to defend. Above the eagle is the inscription "In God We Trust," and a laurel wreath is placed around it, as well as the denomination "One Dollar" and the name of the country "United States of America."
