Noah was the only one of the living people to obtain God's favor and was given the opportunity to save himself from death. He was chosen to be responsible, to save all life on earth from the impending flood. He was to accomplish this with the help of an ark built by him and his family, on which he was also to take a pair of each of the animals inhabiting the earth. When the waters subsided after a torrential downpour that lasted 40 days and nights, the ark settled on top of Mount Ararat, and its passengers repopulated the planet.

The silver numismatic coin underwent a process of oxidation on both sides, which gave it a unique aged look. The amount and legibility of details were also increased, and the whole coin was additionally protected from harmful effects of the air by this process. The reverse of the coin shows the figure of Noah, together with the floating Ark. The obverse shows the scene of the abandonment of the ship's boat by all the passengers on Mount Ararat.
