Gods of Olympus: Aphrodite 2022, 1 oz Silver Coin

The sixth coin from Pert Mint, this time dedicated to the figure of Aphrodite.

According to legend, Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam near Cyprus. She was the goddess of beauty, love, flowers, fertility and desire. She was considered the most beautiful of the goddesses of the Greek pantheon. She was worshipped in particular by women, who saw her as the patroness of marriage. Similarly, due to her maritime origins, she was also worshipped by sailors. Aphrodite's attributes were a chariot harnessed with pigeons, an apple, a rose and a myrtle.

The reverse of the coin depicts Aphrodite emerging from the sea waves. A dove sits on her right ece, and dolphins can be seen leaping out of the water's depths in the background. She holds a mirror in her left hand and is dressed in a light elegant gown. In the background you can see an overcast sky, and below, a swan with its wings spread. The swan bears the inscription APHRODITE. The obverse presents the classic right profile of Queen Elizabeth II. The circle contains information regarding the date of issue, weight and material of the coin.
