The White Horse of Hanover is the ninth coin in the Queen's Beasts series. It has been further refined by undergoing an oxidation treatment, which further protects the coin from the effects of air. In addition, the coin's main motif, the heraldic horse, was additionally gilded, giving the coin an unparalleled and unique look.

The entire coin series was issued to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Elizabeth II's coronation as Queen of the United Kingdom falling in 2018. The series was launched in 2016, and each year the collection is enriched by two new silver values. The entire series, numbering ten coins, is inspired by the heraldry of the British monarchs, with the theme of mythical animals representing each of them.

The reverse of this richly decorated silver coin features the heraldic White Horse of Hanover. This is a reference to King George I, who sat on the British throne from 1714 1724. It was from Hanover that this British monarch originated. The coin's reverse depicts an image of a horse along with a shield. The rim bears the inscription "White Horse of Hanover", the weight of the coin and the sample of silver used in the production. On the obverse we find the figure of Queen Elizabeth II and the coin's denomination - 5 British pounds (GBP).
