Germania Mint’s latest silver coin is dedicated to Sleipnir—the legendary eight-legged horse from Norse mythology. As Odin’s faithful companion, Sleipnir was considered the fastest and most powerful steed, capable of traversing the earth, the sky, and the realm of the dead. His extraordinary origins also make him unique—according to myth, he was born of Loki, who took the form of a mare, and the stallion Svaðilfari. In Norse tradition, he became a symbol of extraordinary strength, speed, endurance, and divine power.

The obverse of the coin features Sleipnir’s head and the front portion of his impressive silhouette. The four visible legs emphasize his power and dynamic movement, while the meticulously crafted details and rich ornamentation lend the composition a majestic, almost divine character. Every element of the design has been refined with exceptional precision, capturing the extraordinary nature of this mythical steed. The reverse depicts Sleipnir in full gallop, showing the rear of his silhouette and the remaining four legs, which complete the distinctive image of the legendary horse.
