Gigantopithecus was a representative of primates that inhabited the areas of present-day China, India and Vietnam, and reached extinction some 300,000 years ago. This extinct giant was able to reach up to 3 meters in height and could weigh more than 500 kg. It is to him that the next installment of coins in the Prehistoric Life series is dedicated, inspired by the mysterious prehistoric times, whose secrets still puzzle mankind today. The collection is distinguished by an exceptionally low mintage of 10,000 copies.

The reverse of the presented investment coin depicts the mighty silhouette of Gigantopithecus, with its inhabited areas in the background, of which the waterfall stands out the most. The upper part of the reverse reads the name of the PREHISTORIC LIFE series and information about the period in which the extinct mammal lived. The obverse of the coin is decorated with the national emblem of the Republic of Congo, where the coin is its official legal tender.
