The 1954-1967 1 guilder coin is a classic example of a post-war silver circulation coin of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Struck from sterling silver, it had a weight of 10 grams and a diameter of 28 mm. The coin was a symbol of the Netherlands' economic stability after World War II. The obverse of the coin depicts the left profile of Queen Juliana, with the otolithic inscription "JULIANA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN." The reverse is decorated with the coat of arms of the Netherlands - a lion in a shield with a sword and arrows, surmounted by a royal crown. On its sides the denomination "1 G" is placed, and below it the year of issue and mint markings. The whole is surrounded by the inscription "MUNT VAN HET KONINKRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN." (coin of the Kingdom of the Netherlands).
