Domovik is a figure from Slavic mythology, believed to be the guardian spirit of the home. He was believed to live in a corner of the room, in the attic or near the hearth and watch over the household and its inhabitants. The householder could be helpful, taking care of order, animals and the safety of the household members, but he could also play tricks or do damage if he was not shown respect. To placate him, small offerings were made to him, such as bread or milk. In folk culture, the domovik symbolized a person's bond with home and tradition.

The reverse shows the figure of a domovik covering his face with his dried hands. In the background one can see a fragment of the chamber he is tending. On the left is a soy of a dish, which is accentuated with mirror workmanship. In the front part there is an inscription with the name of the coin and the series. The obverse of the coin is decorated in an approximately floral motif. In the midst of plants one can also see snakes, spiders, a small dragon, or a clawed hand. The central part features Cameroon's coat of arms along with information about the currency of 500 Central African francs.
