TheAustralian Koala is a well-known coin series that has been around for many years and is also a collector's item.
Next to the Kookaburra, theAustralian Koala is one of the most recognizable Australian coins.
This internationally recognized coin debuted on the precious metals market in 2007. This collection, like many others issued by Perth Mint, is inspired by Australia's unique fauna, specifically the friendly koalas. A distinctive feature of the series is the image on the reverse, which changes each year. A limited mintage of 300,000 copies adds a collector's element to the coin.
On the reverse of this silver coin we see a small koala sitting on the branch of a eucalyptus tree. The mirrored background on which the image is located has been undulated in geometric patterns. Beneath the right paw on the branch is a small privy mark with the letter P, the mint's symbol. On the obverse you will find the figure of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is legal tender in Australia, and its face value is AUD 1.
