Montserrat: Blue Sea Turtle 2022, 1 oz Silver Coin

A coin program based on the cooperation of eight countries located in the Eastern Caribbean was launched in 2018. The project involves the annual issuance of coins by each participating country. The coins issued are thematically linked to their region and are legal tender in the territories of the eight countries belonging to the Central Bank of the Eastern Caribbean. The featured coin was issued under the auspices of the island of Montserrat, and its theme focuses on the turtles that inhabit the island's territory.

The reverse of the bullion coin depicts a sea turtle swimming through the sea close to the surface of the water. In the distance we can see the outline of another turtle swimming toward the water surface. Beneath the creature we can read the inscription "MONTSERRAT" and find out the date of issue. The obverse of the coin is decorated with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, along with information about the weight, bullion proof and denomination of the coin.
