Gold bill with a denomination of 10 Goldbacks from the state of Florida.

Goldback Inc. is a privately owned Utah-based mint that became famous for creating the world's first physical, convertible currency made of gold. This pioneering achievement was made possible by patented vacuum gold application technology, which allows for extremely precise placement of a measured amount of 24-karat bullion on a durable polymer substrate. The result is a flexible, durable yet aesthetically pleasing banknote that combines the function of a practical means of payment with the value of the gold itself. Goldbacks have the distinction of being a unique form of fractional ownership of gold, available in small denominations for actual use in everyday transactions. Although they are accepted voluntarily, they have gained status as local currency in several US states - including Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Florida and Oklahoma. Each bill is not only a carrier of bullion value, but also a work of art. Goldbacks' designs reference the local virtues, history and heritage of each state, showcasing the richness of their culture and symbolism. As a result, the banknotes serve a dual role - they are both beautiful, collectible objects and a practical tool for storing and circulating gold in everyday life.

The image on the Florida Goldback depicts an intricate scene reflecting the height of Florida's early industrialization era. The slogan INNOVATIVE IDEAS BUILD FUTURES at the bottom explains the composition: a Flagler railroad glides along Florida's east coast, and a young woman in 1920s garb leans out of the carriage. Below them, in the coastal waters, dolphins swim. Henry Flagler changed the face of Florida's east coast with his Florida East Coast Railway, which he extended from St. Augustine to Key West between 1885 and 1912. This remarkable engineering feat, often known as "Flagler's folly," also included the unprecedented construction of the Over-Sea Railroad, connecting the Florida Keys archipelago. The railroad paved the way for rapid development and tourism, leading to the creation or rapid growth of cities such as Miami, Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
