"Hussars – Wings of Glory" is a unique collector’s item in which the history and tradition of the Republic of Poland meet modern numismatic art. For centuries, the Polish Hussars have remained one of the most recognizable symbols of courage, strength, and military prowess. Its extraordinary legend served as the inspiration for the latest installment of the “Roots of the Nation” series, which vividly commemorates the legacy of one of the most remarkable cavalry units in European history.

The colorful obverse catches the eye with a dynamic depiction of a hussar astride a rearing horse. The warrior, clad in full, gleaming armor, is depicted ready for battle—with his saber held firmly in his hand and the characteristic hussar wing emphasizing his majestic appearance. A red tassel serves as a striking accent to the composition, while a tense battle scene unfolds in the background. A bright glow hovers over the battlefield, and the fluttering white-and-red banners further reinforce the patriotic character of the depiction. Realistic details, the depth of the image, and the intense color scheme make the obverse radiate energy, strength, and the grandeur of war. The design is complemented by the golden inscriptions “HUSARIA” and “SKRZYDŁA CHWAŁY.”

The reverse retains the distinctive aesthetic of the “Roots of the Nation” collection, creating an elegant contrast to the dynamic obverse. The dominant, deep black with a matte finish provides the perfect backdrop for the precisely crafted gilded elements. In the center is the “KN” monogram, surrounded by a decorative wreath of oak leaves and twigs. The oak, which for centuries has been associated with strength, perseverance, durability, and deep roots, harmonizes perfectly with the concept of the entire series. The composition is framed by the impressive, gilded inscription “ROOTS OF THE NATION” running along the edge.
