This is the eleventh release in the series, which this time surprises with an unprecedented design. On the reverse, alongside the proud Australian wedge-tailed eagle, appears an icon of the American skies—the bald eagle. Both bird silhouettes are depicted in full color, giving the coin an almost lifelike quality.
Behind the design stands a legend of the global engraving world— John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. His artistry is evident in every detail: from the precisely rendered feathers of the wedge-tailed eagle in a deep brown hue to the bald eagle’s distinctive white head and yellow beak. Both birds look in the same direction, symbolizing cooperation and strength.
The coin is struck from one troy ounce of pure silver. As legal tender in Australia, the obverse features an image of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne.
