The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror 2022 Silver Coin, 1 ounce

A collector coin in an elegant display issued in a small mintage of 5,000 pieces.

"Treehouse of Horror" is an annual special episode of the animated series "The Simpsons" (Polish: "The Simpsons"), which is broadcast during the Halloween season. Each such episode usually consists of three independent segments that parody various aspects of horror, science fiction, fantasy and supernatural events. Characteristically, these episodes have a more dark and humorous tone, often full of references to popular films, books and other horror-related cultural works. Each episode segment is usually more fantastical and less realistic than standard Simpsons episodes, allowing the creators to experiment with different narrative and animation styles.

On the reverse side of the silver coin, we see a Halloween version of a scene familiar from the series' opening credits, where we see the entire family sitting on a couch. In this version, skeletons of all family members sit on the couch, and the entire background is covered in black. At the very bottom is the name of the cylinder, slightly to the right we see the name of the series' creator. The obverse shows the classic right profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Around it is placed information about the weight and purity of the silver from which the coin was made. The coin has a denomination of one Australian dollar and is legal tender in this country.
