Croatia Dalmatian Dog 2021, 1 oz Silver Coin
The Silver Mint presents a debut bullion coin minted as part of a collaboration between Croatian Mint Croatian Mint and Germania Mint.
The Dalmatian Dog silver coin gives rise to a new series titled Authochthonous Croatia.
The first bullion coin minted by Croatian Mint focuses its attention on a dog breed closely associated with Dalmatia, the Dalmatian. In 1994, the International Kennel Federation recognized the Dalmatian dog as a native Croatian breed. Known from the movie "101 Dalmatians," it owes its name to Dalmatia. The coin is encouraging with its mintage, limited to 15,000 copies.
The reverse of the coin shows a representative of the Dalmatian breed, whose patches may represent some of Croatia's islands. Next to the dog is the Croatian coat of arms, with a fragment of the map from which the quadruped comes. At the top of the reverse we can read the value of the coin. The obverse of the coin is also represented by Dalmatians, this time in a pair against a background of water - one of the dogs is resting on a wall, under which is the inscription CANIS DALMATICUS, while the other is standing behind it in a position indicating the dog's full readiness. Next to them we can read the year of the coin's production and the inscription DALMATINSKI PAS.
