The Durga silver coin draws its inspiration from one of Hinduism's most important goddesses. She is often depicted as a woman with many arms, capable of defeating demons and evil. Durga symbolizes strength, courage and protection, and her name translates as "steadfast" or "invincible." She possesses various attributes, such as a sword, trident and shield. She is also the central figure of one of the most important Hindu holidays, especially celebrated in Bengal and other regions of India. During this event, impressive statues of the goddess are created and rituals and prayers are held in her honor.

On the reverse of the silver coin, we see a silhouette of Durga along with a tiger standing at her side. In Hinduism, the tiger holds a special place as a symbol of strength, energy and protection. In each of her eight hands, the goddess holds a different object, mainly a weapon, an attribute of the warrior woman. In the background we see an ornamental pattern inspired by lotus flowers. The obverse in the center shows us the Cameroonian coat of arms, along with the denomination, date of issue, as well as the weight and silver content of the bullion.
