Silver Koala — a colored coin inspired by Australia’s unique wildlife

This year’s ANA Coin Show Special, held during the World’s Fair of Money in Pittsburgh, is one of the most important numismatic events in the world. From August 25–29, 2026, leading dealers, coin manufacturers, mints, and collectors from many countries will gather at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event features hundreds of booths, auctions, new issue premieres, special fair editions, and a rich program of lectures and exhibitions dedicated to the history of money. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire some of the rarest coins and banknotes, including exhibits presented by the Money Museum and private collectors. For years, the ANA Coin Show Special has been an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends in numismatics, network with industry professionals, and acquire limited-edition items prepared specifically for the fair.

On the reverse of the bullion coin, we see a colored silhouette of an Australian koala cub sitting on a tree branch. On the left side, the year of issue is inscribed, along with the coin’s weight and the fineness of the silver from which it was struck. Additionally, a small privy mark depicting the Liberty Bell is featured here. The obverse of this coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the face value of 1 Australian dollar. The coin is sold in a themed blister pack commemorating the numismatic event. The mintage of this edition is limited to only 2,500 pieces.
