A silver coin with the image of one of the birds most associated with Australian fauna - the kookaburra. The kookaburra is a type of large bird from the kingfisher family, found mainly in Australia and Tasmania. The bird also has an important place in Australia's Aboriginal culture. In many Aboriginal myths and stories, the kookaburra is often depicted as a figure with powerful magical powers and supernatural abilities.

On the reverse of the coin, we are shown an Australian kookaburra sitting on a branch. Below that we see the name of the series, the year of issue, as well as the weight of the coin and the silver content of the bullion from which it was made. The obverse shows the right profile of Queen Elizabeth II, and below that we can see the denomination, 2 Australian dollars, as the coin is full legal tender in that country.
