The silver numismat is the second installment in the Mythical Beasts series from Komsco. This time it depicts a griffin. The griffin is a mythical creature that combines the characteristics of a lion and an eagle. It has the body, tail and hind paws of a lion, symbolizing strength, and the head, wings and front paws of an eagle, symbolizing wisdom and freedom. In many cultures it is considered the guardian of treasures or sacred places. Griffins often appear in coats of arms and mythologies, from ancient Greece to medieval Europe, symbolizing power and protection. According to legends, they were extremely alert and courageous, and their feathers or claws had magical properties.

The silver numismatic coin depicts the silhouette of a griffin standing on four paws. The tips of its spread bird-like wings were further accented in green. As befits a South Korean manufacturer, the figurine impresses with its richness of details, details and quality of workmanship.
