The reverse of this year's edition depicts majestic African elephants heading for a watering hole. A zebra also appears in the background, further emphasizing the natural, wild atmosphere of the composition. The design is complemented by the inscription "African Wildlife" and information on the weight and fineness of the silver, confirming the purity of the metal. In addition, a small privy mark referring to the event has been added. The obverse is decorated with the coat of arms of Somalia – two leopards supporting a shield with a star in the center. The denomination of 100 Somali shillings (SOS), the year of issue, and the inscription "Somali Republic" are also featured.
