On the reverse of the 2017 issue, we see two kookaburras perched on a wooden fence. To the right is a small privy mark denoting the Year of the Rooster. The extraordinary attention to detail evident in the birds’ plumage and the fence is striking. The outer rim features the name of the series and information regarding the issue date, fineness, and weight. The obverse of the coin features a classic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, next to which is the denomination of 1 dollar.
