The silver historical coin contains approximately 23.43 grams of pure silver
The currency is an interesting alternative to popular bullion coins.
The Maria-Theresien-Taler silver thaler (Maria-Theresien-Taler) is one of the most famous coins in European and world history. Although its issue date - 1780 - refers to the year of the death of Empress Maria Theresia Habsburg (1717-1780), the coin was minted for more than two centuries and remains an icon of classical minting today. The first Maria Theresa thalers began to be minted in 1741, during the empress's lifetime, as the standard silver coin of the Austrian Empire. After her death in 1780, Emperor Joseph II authorized the continued minting of thalers with the unchanged date "1780" to preserve commercial continuity. Since then, all copies have borne this very date, regardless of the actual year of production.
The coin gained extraordinary popularity as a means of payment and trade in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where it was widely accepted until the 20th century. In many regions it was even regarded as an international currency, especially for trade with Arab and African countries.
An example of the condition of the coins can be seen in the photo. Coins in good condition, may have minor scratches or patina.
