Chinese Myths: Dragon & Koi 2023,1 oz Silver Coin

This time, the Chinese dragon was joined by koi carp, which, according to legends, can turn into this creature.

In both Chinese and Japanese culture, Koi are strongly associated with legends and symbolism. One of the most famous myths tells of a Koi that overcomes a waterfall on the Yellow River to become a dragon. According to the legend, any Koi that manages to overcome the Dragon Falls is turned into a dragon at the top of the falls. In Chinese culture, the Koi is a symbol of strength, courage, perseverance and success in the face of difficulties. Because of these mythological tales and the beauty of the Koi, they have also become popular art pieces and symbols of luck, prosperity and good changes in many Asian cultures.
