Archangel Michael is of great importance in the Christian religion because, as one of the most powerful angels, he was said to command the army of God in the battle against Satan. This angel is summoned by the faithful to help them release their inner light and to give them protection against the forces of evil. Michael is one of the most important angels not only in the Christian religion, but also in Judaism and Islam.

The shield-shaped numismatic figure depicts Michael the Archangel striking down Satan with a spear in the shape of a cross. In his other hand he holds a shield with the inscription "Quis us Deus," signifying the words that were spoken by him to the fallen angel - "Who like God!". Behind the figures in the background, clouds can be seen, symbolizing that the battle is taking place in the hereafter. The obverse of the coin is decorated with the same design, but it is concave, which allows the numismatics to be safely stacked. The shield is packaged in a dedicated protective cap.
