The platinum Australian Kookaburra is a relatively young series, with the first coin of the series released in 2021. The year before that was the 30th anniversary of the series of silver coins featuring the image of this popular bird. The platinum coins, like the gold and silver coins, have a reverse that changes every year, which adds to the appeal of the series. An additional advantage here is the very small mintage of only 15,000 pieces, which for collectors increases the value of the coin over time.

The reverse of the silver coin invariably presents us with the kookaburra, but in a different situation each year. On the 2024 coin, we see this bird in flight, holding a snake in its talons. At the top is the name of the coin, and on the left is the year of issue, as well as the weight and bullion sample. The obverse shows the left profile of King Charles - this is the first issue of the Australian Kookaburra with the image of this ruler, and the denomination of 15 Australian dollars is also placed here.
