Goldbacks are a unique combination of currency and physical bullion.

Each Goldback contains information about its value in grams of gold, as well as information related to the history and culture of the region from which it comes. Goldbacks are produced by American Goldback Inc. a private company based in Utah, United States. They were introduced to promote the use of gold as a currency and investment, and as a way to encourage people to learn about the history and culture of their region.

This banknote shows the character Veritas, or Truth, is depicted as a pioneer woman from Utah, a reference to the great migration that involved the first settlers who settled in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. With her hair disheveled, she holds a lantern high with her right hand, symbolizing the light of truth she carries, which sheds light on the uncertainties a person can have as they travel through life. It is accompanied by the footer: "Walk in Truth." At the very bottom is the weight of the gold the bill contains, 1/200th of an ounce, or 0.155 grams.
