Groot is a fictional character from the Marvel universe, mostly known from the Guardians of the Galaxy film series. He is an anthropomorphic tree from the race of Flora Colossus, which originated on Planet X. Groot is distinguished by his extraordinary ability to regenerate and communicate, although his vocabulary is limited to a single phrase: "I am Groot," the meaning of which is understood only by a select few. Despite his simplicity in communication, he is a loyal and courageous member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, ready to sacrifice himself for his friends. His relationship with Rocket, a talking raccoon, provides many humorous and touching moments in the films.

On the reverse of the silver coin, we are presented with a colorful silhouette of Groot known from the films where the action takes place after the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie , where Groot is killed and then reborn as a small sapling.
