We present the latest coin from the popular Lunar series issued by Rwanda, dedicated to the Year of the Goat. The Chinese Year of the Goat is the sixth of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac and symbolizes harmony, gentleness, and good fortune. People born under this sign are considered calm, kind, creative, and sensitive, and are eager to help others. The Year of the Goat recurs every twelve years, and its beginning is marked by the Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese New Year celebrations are a time for family gatherings, preserving traditions, and colorful festivities.

The reverse of the coin features a stylized silhouette of a goat—the eighth sign of the Chinese zodiac. The design retains the distinctive style of the entire Lunar series, using a composition of geometric shapes to form the image of the animal. The edge features the year of issue, the name of the series, and information on the weight and fineness of the silver. The obverse is adorned with the coat of arms of Rwanda, below which is the coin’s face value of 100 Rwandan francs.
