Silver Coin 2 zloty Head of a Woman 1932-1934, 4.4 grams

Silver circulation coins are an interesting alternative to the popular bullion coins.

The 1932-1934 2 zloty coin is a silver circulation coin, made of sterling silver, weighing 4.4 grams and 22 mm in diameter is part of the 1924 currency reform, when the so-called "second zloty" was introduced, replacing the earlier mark. These coins were in use until the outbreak of World War II, when they were gradually withdrawn from circulation in 1939-1940 and many were melted down. The year 1932 brought the largest mintage - 15,700,000 pieces - making this version relatively common. The 1934 version, on the other hand, had a much smaller mintage - only 250,000 pieces - making it more attractive to collectors. Today, 2-zloty coins from the interwar period - especially copies with the low mintage of 1934 - are valued by numismatists and collectors as a valuable historical souvenir and an interesting collector's object.

The obverse features a crowned eagle - the emblem of the Republic - as well as the inscriptions" RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA" and the denomination "2 ZŁOTE 2" with the date of minting under the eagle. The reverse is decorated with the profile of a woman's head - the symbolic "Polonia" - surrounded by ears of grain, which was meant to symbolize the Polish land and agricultural traditions.
