The silver cylinder is a continuation of the series presenting us with mythical creatures. This year's installment introduces us to the silhouette of the unicorn, a mythical creature known mainly from legends and folktales. It is usually a horse that has a single, distinctive, long and spirally twisted horn on its forehead. Unicorns are often depicted as beautiful, majestic and magical beings. The first references to unicorns come from ancient texts, such as the works of Pliny the Elder and descriptions in Greek mythology. Unicorns also appear in medieval art and literature.

On the reverse of this silver investment coin, we see a unicorn looking back. In the background behind him are shown mountain peaks and an overcast sky. At the very bottom we see the name of the animal. On the obverse is the emblem of the issuing country, Fiji, along with its name, date of issue and denomination. On the sides of the coat of arms we have the weight of the currency as well as the silver content.
