Hermes is the god of messengers, trade, travelers, thieves and cunning in Greek mythology. He was the son of Zeus and the nymph Maia. He was characterized by extraordinary speed and agility, which is why he is often depicted with sandals or a helmet with wings, which allowed him to move quickly between the worlds of gods, humans and the underworld. Hermes also served as a guide of souls to Hades and a protector of merchants and travelers. In the myths he is shown as an intelligent, cunning and helpful figure.

The silver ingot features an image of Hermes in a dynamic pose running in front of a sibling. On his head is a helmet with small wings, and also visible in the background is a caduceus - a staff entwined by two snakes, topped with wings.
