A gold bar minted in proof quality with a limited mintage of 5,000 pieces.

This gold bar, featuring the image of one of the Norse deities, is part of the unique “Gods of Germania” collection, produced by Germania Mint. The series is dedicated to figures from Germanic and Norse mythology, translating their symbolism into the world of contemporary precious metal products. The obverse of the bar features a detailed portrait of the god, rendered with meticulous attention to proportions, the figure’s distinctive features, and the finest details of the composition. The design follows a style consistent with the other products in the collection, ensuring that the individual issues form a cohesive and recognizable whole. The reverse features the Germania Mint logo and markings indicating the weight, fineness, and pure metal content. Gold of the highest fineness, 999.9, sourced from LBMA-accredited suppliers, was used in production, confirming the high quality of the raw material. The bar combines the value of precious metal with an attractive design inspired by ancient beliefs, making it an intriguing option for both investors and enthusiasts of mythology and thematic numismatic collections.

Baldur is one of the most important gods in Norse mythology, the son of Odin and Frigg, associated with light, beauty, purity, and goodness. He was distinguished by his extraordinary beauty and gentle disposition, and his presence brought a sense of peace and harmony to the other gods. According to mythological accounts, Frigg, wishing to protect her beloved son, obtained a promise from nearly all beings and objects that they would not harm him. The exception turned out to be mistletoe, which Loki treacherously used to bring about Baldur’s death. His tragic fate became one of the most significant events heralding Ragnarök—the twilight of the gods and the end of the existing world order. In Norse mythology, Baldur remains a symbol of innocence, light, and goodness, the loss of which heralds the coming of dark times.
