Coin dating from the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I
The gold coin with the denomination of 10 Austro-Hungarian crowns was minted during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I, mainly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The coin is made of 900-gauge gold and weighs about 3.387 grams, of which pure gold is 3.048 grams. On the obverse is an image of the Emperor with the inscription "Franc Ios I D G Imperator Austriae Rex Bohemiae etc. et Rex Apostolicus Hungariae." The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy with a two-headed eagle and an imperial crown. These coins had both circulating and commemorative value, and today are valued by collectors and investors as an example of elegant, historic gold from the Habsburg Monarchy period.
